H&O is a machine shop established in 1945 and located in Waterloo, Ontario, with particular expertise of producing very precise components, most often using CNC turning, grinding and honing machines measuring with CMMs, lasers and air gauges. We are ISO certified and have extensive experience supplying customers with finished parts requiring close tolerances as demanded in a variety of industries, as well as offering precision grinding services for other machine shops and steel warehouses.

The parts we make are mainly produced from bar stock or forgings in various steels and specialty metals in sizes from 0.05" diameter, to 5" in diameter, in volumes from one piece to millions of pieces. Some part numbers may be made just once, but most of our operations are serving long-time customers with families of like parts delivered on a daily basis in volumes from ten to a thousand, Common part names include shaft, stem, bushing, piston and tube.

Our sole focus is to efficiently produce components utilizing the most appropriate equipment, including some specialty built CNC manufacturing and inspection equipment.
Many of our customers are long established, large, industrial OEMs who we support by shipping products worldwide. Others are smaller local companies that require grinding to hold finished tolerance specifications.
